Post Graduation Oct. 16th, 2006 @ 09:27 pm
I've been trying to keep busy since graduation, I still don't have a job >.< I'm looking in Cali and Florida. I've been looking in Boston too, but I think this is a good time to find someplace new.

I headed out to NYC to meet up with Square-Enix at a trade show last week.

Back in classes Jan. 28th, 2006 @ 07:44 pm
I like this lifestyle better than work. Work is great, but you have to be there all the time. It's so far away too. With classes, You get all that time in between to do whatever. I like seeing different people all the time. I enjoy the freedom of it.
So the weather really sucks here. It sucked before, but I didn't care. After being in Florida, I think the suckage really started to bother me. I have dreams where I'm still there sitting under a palm tree. Then I wake up and it's snowing and raining at the same time outside. Grrr. Thats when I'm like "What the hell am I doing here!" But this is where I built my life and I have alot to be happy about here. Good job, nice home, good schools. This place is usually interesting to say the least. I'm still not sure what to do when I graduate. I going to start traveling alot more for sure.

surprise I finally updated Mar. 4th, 2005 @ 11:09 am
So alot has happened and I haven't written any of it down. This semester, I moved off campus and got an apartment in Brookline. This is my coop semester so I had to find a job. I think I did pretty good, I landed a job at Lincoln Labs over at MIT. It's nice over there. Not too much pressure, lots to learn about. The commute is kinda ridiculous though. Lincoln Labs is over in Lexington, I got rid of my car, and I don't want another one for now. There's a shuttle that leaves from MIT, so I figured I could start biking there. I worked really good too. I got a really nice bike. I wanted to get some practice for the mountain bike team next fall.
Yeah so everything was going really great until last thursday when I'm riding home on the harvard bridge, a car comes up behind me and never even saw me. I got thrown like 20 feet. Nothing got broken, but my back is sore. I couldn't even bend it for a week. I can't stand to sit still or stay inside and I was stuck there. I'm feeling better, but not fast enough.

A-Rod eats babies! Oct. 23rd, 2004 @ 10:32 am
We showed those yanks a thing or two. I've been waiting a long time for this. The sox beat the yankees and are going to the world series. If you were at the riots, you probably recognize my subject line. Or maybe you're thinking what's A-Rod. If so, leave me a comment. Speaking of the riots, just when I was starting to trust the police... Last week after game 3 I was out skating when one of the cops started hassling me. He was saying, "What are you doing going the wrong way down a one-way street?" I got a worried look on my face. Then he busts out laughing. Then six other cops around the corner that I didn't see start laughing too. I was thinking how cool the Boston cops are compared to the moron ones in my hometown. But then this happens: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2004/news/story?id=1906735
I guess I shouldn't judge 1000 cops for the actions of one. It's hard not to because of the circumstances. It drives me crazy that all they show on tv is the 5-30 people smashing stores and burning cars and not the 5000+ people giving each other high-fives while parading around fenway park. That puts us (college kids) in the same situation of being judged by the actions of a few. It's terrible situation. I feel like the city doesn't understand us at all. We want to celebrate that second when we win and they want to wait until the next day. For the fenway colleges, it's a universal response to flock to fenway park. (Our roomate from new york who's a yankee fan even came to celebrate) If they had some way for us to celebrate that was actually planned it could be safer for everyone. I dunno they could open up fenway park and have the players say something(obviously home games only) or some representative of the team could talk.

I've been accepted as a guide for Showa. I'm gonna be a guide for Japanese undergrads studying in Boston. It's alot of fun; I haven't smiled so much since I worked at the summer camp. They are so interested in american culture and like to talk about japanese culture. I will be showing them around Boston. This is fun because I enjoy showing Boston to people who've never been there. There's so many crazy things like the drivers and people that talk to you that I can explain to them. I want to show them the suburbs too because they have a completely different culture.

I'm pretty close to getting a new apartment. We have a deposit in. It's at Mass Ave and Tremont. It is a loft-style apartment with two levels. There's four of us that are living together. At the same time as I'm exited, I'm nervous too. Getting a job is hard to do when you have classes. I have a co-op next semester and I will take classes in the summer. I've been stressed out because of getting the apartment and a job. I've had alot of sleepless nights. Then when I started doing interviews in the early morning it was a recipe for disaster. I've been falling asleep on the couch during the day now. At least I'm doing well in classes, that's what's most important. Once we move in I will feel better. Parties have been lame this year so I'm hoping to have some good ones at the apartment.

Red Sox Game Oct. 8th, 2004 @ 10:08 am
I'm goin to the Sox game tonight. It should be awesome. It's game three of the division series. My brother has the tickets, and he somehow managed to break the key off in the ignition of his car an hour away from here. I called up my grandparents to go get his ass and bring him here. I'm kinda sweating this one out.

Hey, it's been awhile, but I've had a good summer. One of the best parts of the summer was the trips to Montreal. I went with my roomates about three times. It was cool because they have another language but they still know english. The nightlife is great and so is the food. It's been an even better first month back in classes. Even though there are no more beach trips and less skating, living in Boston rocks! I just survived my first round of tests and I'm celibratng tonight. So, Florida people, you know who you are, there's been hurricane after hurricane. Even though I'm enjoying the surfing the hurricanes give, I'm worried about you. If I can feel the effects from here, then those storms are powerful. Every once in a while when it suddenly starts raining here, or I'm catching some monster waves, I wonder how you are doing. Well keep checking back cause I'm gonna start updating regularly. Later.
» Computer Camp
In case you haven't noticed, I've been completely missing from the face of the planet for about three weeks. I've taken a job at a computer camp at Bentley College. This job is alot of fun, but it sucks up every minute of every day. Yesterday, we had a carnival night with water balloons, fortune tellers, pie the camp counselor, DDR, and dancing. I have to run, but hopefully I will have some time to finish my post later...
» fiery inferno
OMFG my stepmom set my dad's house on fire today. I was sleeping when I heard alot of noise outside my room. So then I hear a fire alarm. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but I wasn't exactly awake yet. So after about thirty seconds of that, I figure I better go find out what's goin on. As soon as I open my door, I see fire halfway up to the ceiling coming from my dad's bed. So I'm still half asleep and just plain annoyed that I got woken up and start walking over to where we keep the fire extinguisher which is not even there anymore. At this point I grab some baking soda to put it out with, but the fire is huge now. So I go out back and get the hose. This whole time my stepmom is running from the bathroom to the bedroom with a cup trying to put it out with that. I stuff the hose in the window and she puts the fire out with that. I guess it was a cigarrette or something that started it.
Since that was over, I figured I would try and go to the beach. I figured I could pick up where I left off sleeping there. But of course, there's no car so I had to just wait around for one to show up. When my dad showed up he was pretty surprised about the whole fire thing and not that happy about it, but I grabbed his car and went to the beach. There were no waves, and it was stating to get cold, so I went home to get things together and go out. I went with my brother and my friend Lorren to Providence Place and we went to Dave and Busters. It's kinda like Jullian's used to be before the arcade got taken out. We got some food, it was really good and not too expensive. There was a balloon animal guy wandering around the restaurant and we had him make us a squirreley balloon animal like the one on Aqua Teen. They had this cool game that moves with hydraulics. It looks like gundam, but there were three other games like it too. In the one we played, you just kinda fly around and blow things up. When you move it simulates flying, and when you get hit it shakes you alot. We raced each other on the Ferrari game and jet skis and even pod racers. Then we were broke.
» Post Semester Fun
After school ended for the year, I've had over a month to do whatever I wanted before work starts. Here's how I've been spending it so far:

I went to Acen. This was a weekend anime con in Chicago. Anyone reading this probably already knows this ^^ Full details will come later. I've been slow with writing the con report for this. After coming home from that, I was getting bored at home so I took a train into Boston to visit with friends. This escape from my hometown lasted over a week thanks to my excellent friends who put up with me crashing at their places. Our activities included being lazy, eating out, getting drunk, and all the usual stuff. It feels good to be free for a little while.

I'm back in my hometown now. I went surfing today. My bro was saying the waves would be good, but as anyone who was in the Boston area knows, the weather wasn't all that warm or dry. I've been away from the beach for so long that I just didn't care. I had to get in the water. We set off to scrounge for supplies. We checked to see if our neighbor Henry wanted to go. We wound up with 4 people, 3 surfboards and one bodyboard, 4 wetsuits, and 2 cars. When we got to our surf spot, the waves were crap, so we headed to another spot. Good choice, the waves were excellent there. I ended up way down next to the rocks and lighthouse. Henry was over there too. My bro and Henry's friend were back where there was still sand. We were catching some nice rides there, but the tide was moving in, so every time we caught another wave, the rocks were closer. We figured it was time to move, but just as well, the waves were getting bigger. By now my brother was freezing, his wetsuit doesn't fit right. If it's not tight, they don't work. The other guy left shortly after that. Me and Henry were having a blast though and we weren't about to go anywhere. It finally died down an hour later and we took off. I somehow managed to cut my toe, but I didn't feel it until I got out of the water. (my feet were numb from the cold) All in all, that was a very acceptable amount of damage for such a good time. I feel so relaxed now.

Expect to see changes around here soon. I'm gonna try messing with the layout sometime when I'm not lazy (could be awhile)
